The music may reach guests before the next tasting course does. A harp in one garden, Spanish guitar in another. Beyond the paths and late-season blooms, Denver Health caregivers and staff will be waiting to share stories of work that usually unfolds far from view.
This is Promenade, Denver Health Foundation’s new signature event, coming to Denver Botanic Gardens on Thursday, October 1.
Promenade breaks from the familiar choreography of a fundraising gala. Rather than moving from a reception to a seated dinner, speeches, and an auction, the evening unfolds across the gardens. Along the way, guests will have time for food, drinks, music, and conversation as they take a closer look at the people and programs that make Denver Health an essential to the city and a vital resource across Colorado and the Mountain West.
The menu features six tasting experiences created by the team of José Avila, the James Beard-recognized Denver chef behind La Diabla Pozole y Mezcal. Performances by Palladio String Quartet, harpist Mary Keener, and Spanish guitarist El Javi will surface along the route. The night will culminate at the UMB Amphitheater with dessert, a brief program, and a headline performance by Daniel Rodriguez.
