Dr. MacKenzie brings 30+ years of experience as an Internal Medicine Physician and leader at Denver Health. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a former Denver Health Executive (Chief Quality Officer 2008-2023). While still maintaining an active primary care practice at Denver Health, Tom joined the Foundation in 2023 as a Senior Advisor and liaison between clinical leadership teams and Foundation staff.
Tom completed his BA at Colorado College and his MD at Washington University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine and preventive medicine residencies and his MSPH at the University of Colorado. He is a Colorado native and has spent a lifetime enjoying outdoor activities with his family including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and photography.
