Mary Katherine Kerr is the Senior Coordinator of Philanthropy at Denver Health Foundation, where she brings a rich blend of personal and professional experiences that add breadth and depth to her work. A consistent through line in her career has been the drive to help others – a value that she is proud to continue to live out at Denver Health.
Mary Katherine began her professional journey as a board-certified music therapist, working with children in hospice, geriatric patients in memory care, and students at Beyond the Spectrum, a nonprofit school for children with autism spectrum disorder and related diagnoses. She later joined the organization full-time, where she expanded her skill set in fundraising, office management, and education. After relocating to the Denver Metro area, she gained experience in human resources as a recruiter before returning to the nonprofit sector with Rose Community Foundation. There, she discovered a passion for planned giving, the impact of collective philanthropy, and the power of being a changemaker in her community.
Mary Katherine holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Miami, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, and a Nonprofit Administration Graduate Certificate from Colorado State University. In her spare time, she enjoys playing board games and video games with friends.
