Doug Seserman brings more than two decades of experience leading major Jewish nonprofit organizations and guiding transformational philanthropy to his role on Denver Health Foundation’s Board of Directors. He announced his “ReWirement” in October 2025 following a 23-and-a-half-year career as a Jewish nonprofit chief executive officer. Most recently, Doug served as CEO of Americans for Ben-Gurion University in New York City. Before that, he served as President and CEO of JEWISHcolorado, the Jewish Federation in Denver. During his tenure, Doug led fundraising achievements of more than $500 million in annual campaign revenue and stewarded more than $800 million in endowment assets. Prior to entering the nonprofit arena, he built a strong foundation in the private sector through roles in cable television and consumer products marketing.
Doug is known for his creative business vision, results-oriented leadership, and track record of developing people to their highest capacity. His “coaching tree” includes two corporate CMOs, three Jewish Federation CEOs, and two mayors in Israel. He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his impact: in 2023, The Jerusalem Post named him one of the World’s 50 Most Influential Jews; in 2017, the American Business Awards presented him with the Gold Stevie Award for Non-Profit Executive of the Year; and in 2014, he was named to the Forward 50 as one of the fifty most impactful American Jews. In addition to his role on Denver Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, he serves as an ambassador for Ibex Investors and Crusonia Wealth Advisors.
Doug holds a BS and an MBA from Northwestern University. He is an avid cyclist and skier and lives in Denver with his college sweetheart and wife, Sue, the creator and author of Epilectra, a graphic novel series. They have twin adult children, Mariana and Georgeta. Doug’s experience with large-scale campaigns, endowment growth, and community leadership will help Denver Health Foundation connect donor generosity to meaningful improvements in health for people across Denver.
