Party Planning Hints
Think about who you want to invite to the shower. Family and friends? Or, would your sphere of influence be greater via professional channels, a place of worship, book group, or other association? The cause, not the venue, matters most.
Piggyback on any planned baby showers. Advocating for “Newborns in Need” while celebrating a friend’s shower is a terrific way to spread goodwill. Similarly, other spring events, including Mother’s Day, may also provide meaningful opportunities to encourage giving. Play the DVD, distribute the Denver Health fact sheet and make the enclosed Baby Bucks available so that guests can make monetary donations in addition to the gifts they’ve brought.
While you will determine the best date and time for the baby shower, below is a sample agenda to provide ideas on how the event might unfold.
11:00 A.M. Guests arrive, sign-in, mingle and have refreshments
11:30 A.M. Host introduces “Newborns in Need” program and talks about reason for
supporting campaign
11:40 A.M. DVD is shown
11:45 A.M. Time for party games! (Optional)
11:55 A.M. Baby gifts are unveiled!
12:00 Noon End of formal program
Keep in touch with us! We’d be glad to help you in any way. When your event is over, please call or email Denver Health Foundation Program Manager, Robin Engleberg, to receive instructions for delivering your donations to Denver Health Medical Center.
