Martha “Marti” Awad
Vice President -Private Wealth Advisor

Merrill Lynch, Cherry Creek

After moving to Denver from New York City in 2006, Marti Awad knew she wanted to volunteer for an organization about which she felt passionate. Her sister, Dr. Katie Bakes, Director of the Pediatric ED at Denver Health, introduced her to Paula Herzmark, Executive Director of the Denver Health Foundation. After meeting with Paula, attending an executive briefing by Denver Health CEO Dr. Patricia Gabow, and researching the organization, she says, “I knew that Denver Health was the right fit for me. The creative and proactive way in which the hospital is run and its commitment to providing quality healthcare to all members of our society, especially those most in need, is extremely compelling.” Marti co-founded the Level One Society in 2006.

Marti holds a B.B.A in Finance/Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin, a J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University and an LL.M in Taxation from New York University.  She practiced tax law for 6 years and has been working as a private wealth advisor for ten years.
